NO ONE is going to fund a bad idea [USUALLY!]. NO ONE is going to fund a good idea badly written [ALSO,
USUALLY!] . NO ONE is going to fund a project that does not appear to be needed, doable, winnable, or lead to
some sort of success [GENERALLY!]. By working with us as your Business Consultants, you will learn the
PROCESS to eventually get funded. You will learn how to put SUBSTANCE needed into your proposal to get a
reading and eventually get the money you need. You will LEARN how to become self-sufficient in seeking funds
and writing your proposal that WILL bring you money. A win-win situation!!!

We believe strongly in the process of assisting you in the enabling of bringing your project to an acceptable fundable state and then actively participating in development of its strategy and helping you with opportunities for wealth creation. Our lengthy interview and consulting process requires more collaboration and effort than other methods but you will be richly rewarded for having made the effort to invest the time and be persistence.

Considering Your Proposal
A FUNDABLE Proposal usually has
certain Components...
A FUNDABLE proposal has certain key
components that help in answering the
following questions for funders:
1. What is the problem you want to solve?
2. Why is the problem important?
3. Other than yourself, who else thinks this is a problem?
4. Is there a certain group needing the help? Why aren’t they being helped now?
5. When would you like to solve the problem, or meet the need? Why?
6. Who else is willing to network or collaborate with you to solve the problem?
7. Where is the focus of the need/problem? Demographics, area, condition, etc.
8. How much will it cost to solve a portion of the problem/need? [You can’t do everything!}
9. How long will it take before you can show some positive results due to the funding?
10. Who will determine if you have reached your goals based on your methods,
objectives, and activities? In addition, how will your success be measured?
11. How will you keep the business or project going after the loan/grant is gone?
12. What are YOU doing NOW to ensure the success of your business or project?
Getting a Grant Funded can take up to 18 months!
Regardless of how much you pay us to get you a grant, you still must
have patience and be willing to re-write, re-think, and re-focus before you
get the money. Depending on the type of grant/loan you want or need,
your idea must be matched with a funder/lender willing to give you the
money AFTER you have met all the other qualifications!
Seldom will you get funded on the first try. Your first try, however, may get you noticed and closer to the
money! It may take $3,500 to $6,000 or more to cover our fees due to the complexity of your proposal and
the requirements of the funder. Moreover, some grants are ONLY given during certain cycles. If you have
just missed a cycle of a funder, you may then have to wait 6 months to a year before submitting your
proposal. However, we can then take research for one grant and customize it and submit another grant to a
funder with a quicker cycle.
You may have to submit a FEASIBILITY STUDY. You may have to collaborate with a strong individual or
group to partner with you. You may have to get “Letters of Support,” or “Letters of Agreement” to submit with
your proposal. All of this takes time. However, the good part is that you can make your arrangement to pay
your fees to us on TIME!
Need some quick answers? We have one-session consultations that can help you
get the help you need to solve a problem quickly, get your goals lined up, and
develop your methods, objectives, and activities. Here are a couple of examples:
The One Day Boot Camp!
Spend one 8-hour session in your location, hosted by a college, university, church, or
community-based organization. Get a brief overview of the parts of a grant proposal,
getting prepared to apply for a grant, a grant writing formula, and sources for finding
funders interested in your grant proposal. REQUIREMENT: 10 participants must
pre-register with $95 two weeks in advance of the session, and the host must provide
refreshments and send out press release and other invitations to encourage at least 10
more participants who will be charged $195 after the two-week deadline. (NOTE: No
personal checks!)
The One-Hour Review
Invest 60-minutes and get answers to your specific questions, develop focus for one
phase of your business idea or grant proposal. One of our staff will walk you through
the Concept Paper process that will generate answers and an action plan for you.
Prior to the consultation, you'll arrange for a Phone Interview and tell our staff what
your goal is for the consulting session. They will spend 30 minutes focused on you
during an intensive phone session, during which you will discover what you need to
bring to get answers and direction for your proposal. You will get focused direction
with information and ideas during the Phone Interview and be told what to bring to
the One-Hour Review. You will need to have a special notepad when you call.
Bring that notepad to the One-Hour Review. Get a manila folder to keep your
notepad in, as well as keeping all your thoughts, literature and other information
concerning your business plan or grant proposal. The investment for this productive
consulting session is only $150.
The Eight-Session Group Mentoring (A CREATIVE FUNDING
SOLUTIONS Collaborative Process)
Invest 3 ½ hours and receive more directed mentoring weekly to help you learn
what it takes to get your proposal before the right people for optimum success. In
the first session, you will gain an overall perspective for the art and science of
focused planning for your proposal.

Our steps in
helping you get
funded usually
require these
steps:
1. Call for a Free
Interview and
Consultation;
2. Review what we
can do for you and
our fees;
3. Sign our Service
Agreement and
schedule your
payments;
4. Do the homework
we require;
5. Return at
appointed times to
review our work;
6. Agree to the
finished form and
make final payment;
7. Send/Take all
required forms to the
funding source;
8. Follow up with the
funding source; and
9. Continue to
re-write and resubmit
paperwork to other
funders
The first session will also give a brief overview for the following seven sessions.
Depending on your formal prior training and exposure to writing proposals, you might
not need all seven sessions. You can pick and choose which of the remaining
sessions will help you develop the background needed before hiring us or anyone to
help you articulate your proposal in a professional manner. However, we DO Strongly
Recommend that you come to all of the following sessions to give you continuity,
discipline, and tips for all parts of your proposal. Certain parts of the proposal
receive more points from proposal readers and reviewers than certain other parts. If
you are not constantly made aware of the most current review system instituted by
various groups, you may invest too much time and too much money developing a
fantastic proposal, but not get funded because you did not get a high score on the
main component.
The entire Eight-Session Group Mentoring is only $792 when paid in advance,
or only $99, paid in advance; $129 when paid at the time of the session.
To schedule your One-Hour Review, or your Eight-Session Group Mentoring,
send an e-mail to:
grants@udellandassociates.com, describing your background and the ONE
proposal idea with which you would like assistance. You will receive a reply with
instructions on arranging for your One-Hour Review, and/or your Eight-Session Group
Mentoring class.

advisers they succeed"

YOUR ADJUNCT BUSINESS CONSULTANT
UDELL & ASSOCIATES positions itself as
your adjunct business consultant/contractor!
While much of the grant money and contractors today are given to long-time,
successful organizations with a strong track record (i.e., established businesses,
individuals, or non-profits) we have discovered that it IS possible for a novice or new
person in business, or a new, or smaller, unknown non-profit group or contractor
can actually benefit more from the experience of investing a little money and
becoming mentored by us or some of our associates.
Usually, someone not knowing how to get a grant or contract can actually benefit more
from the experience of working with grant writers, other contractors, and taking our
training before hiring us or some other group to “help me get free money!” We have a
network of quality grant writers and experienced grant reviewers in cooperation with
CREATIVE FUNDING SOLUTIONS and CAN get your proposal read by using our
expertise.
We listen to you & we contribute to your project. We help position you to understand
the long-term benefits of writing grant proposals and
business plans. Instead of rushing to write your grant
proposal or business plan, we take time to help educate
you to the huge GRANTS WORLD.
As YOUR Business Consultant, we look at the market you have
chosen and help you get positioned in order to be a
“Super Player.” Such training and positioning is not a “Slam,
Bam, Thank ya Mam” and run you through the process of
developing a strong business plan or grant proposal. We
actually take time in the free interview to help you understand what you are getting
yourself into!
Your first grant application or business plan may NOT net you any money.
However, you will have invested some time and money in learning the process
and learning how to constantly focus and put your best foot forward on paper.
Honestly, you MIGHT not win a grant or get your business funded on our first
try. Nevertheless, you will learn what it does take to get funds and develop
patience and a technique that we teach to help you EVENTUALLY get funds if
you have a solid idea.
